Moving into a new art scene

Tue Sep 15, 2009, 2:07 PM
I have decided to make a move towards doing skin art. I have always wanted to do tattoos. I love the style, the color, the people and the appreciation that comes from being a successful tattoo artist. I am going to apply my talent to people's skin now. Anyone up for a tattoo? Ha Ha Ha! Pain!

So today I fully learned why you don't like drawing lace. I did it free hand with the mouse on my new Sharlise piece, and it f-in blew. I liked how it turned out, but seriously...that was a pain haha.

I hope all is well. Miss ya bro, so give me a ring when you aren't busy.

Lace isn't rough anymore, especially when I stopped drawing it and created overlays on multiplied layer. Now I can stretch the pattern, fold it and never draw it again ^^

I actually have a library of patterns for each character now, weird, I know. I saw your last piece. Nice work Degs, it looks great. Your getting the lighting down real well ^^

Haha, not me. I haven't figured out how to stretch/overlay patterns in Photoshop yet. Maybe Elements 5 doesn't have it, only CS *shrug*. Any suggestions you might have would help a ton. I draw the same exact pattern anyways.

Thanks man :). That means a lot coming from you, considering you are one of the reasons I dusted off my old painting skills from my high school days. Which piece were you referring to? This one? [link] those toes and that left arm gave me tons of trouble. I still haven't decided on keeping the anime style shade (using just a hard light layer) or going with my dynamic style (using more of the burn and sponge tools). I guess it doesn't matter, so long as I like the result huh? hehe =p.
